Hey there. Thanks for checking out my site. I've always had a love of photography and seem to "luck" my way into some nice photos so I figured I set up a site like this to share them. Originally from San Diego, I now live up in the greater Seattle area. What else is there to say except...Go Aztecs! Go Chargers! Go Padres!

You can send me an email to SDSU93 (at) COMCAST (dot) NET.

Hey! I have a Google Earth KML file for my photos here. (right click and "Save As..")

My Garden : Anyone who visits the Pacific Northwest is immediately struck by the beauty of the forests as well as the alpine meadows that seem to go on forever. I was no exception and when I finally bought a home, I wanted to incorporate those elements into my garden so I could enjoy them all the time. Being the kind of person I am, I studied field guides & plant associations and took photos while hiking in order to learn what "worked" together. For me, my ideal match were the subalpine meadows found on Green Mountain within the Glacier Peak Wilderness Area.

The only hard rule was that all plants had to be true "natives" of the Pacific Northwest and not variagated varieties of an original species. Things started slow as I had no "plan" and I planted some trees in random locations. As I continued, an overall design started to come into focus and things largely fell into place on their own. I added photos to this gallery so that they are in a chronological order. To view a PDF file of my design with a plant list, click here. Enjoy!

My Cadillac : It probably goes back to my youth when my dad still owned a 1962 convertible. I only remember it in rough shape but the styling was so cool. Fast forward to 2003. I started to see one of these cars in my neighborhood and, after a while, decided to pursue one. There are subtle styling differences between 1961 and 1962 and I ultimately decided on 1961 because it had a little more "flair" and 50s styling to it.

I looked around casually for a couple of months before finding the one in front of you...

My Favorites : A random compilation of my favorite digital photographs since 2000. Photos up to July of 2006 were taken with an Olympus C2020 3.2 Megapixel camera. From July 2006 onward, I've been using a Casio EX-Z850. I'm started to see the utility of a full bore digital SLR so as of February 2008, I now have added a Pentax K10d into my array of cameras.

Spider Gap / Buck Creek Pass Loop, August 2006 : This phenominal 44 mile loop accesses some amazing scenery in the northeast part of the Glacier Peak Wilderness. The starting point is the trailhead for Spider Meadows and the exit point is the nearby Phelps Creek Campground at Trinity. This can be a grueling but rewarding trip!

Horseshoe Basin, Pasayten Wilderness 8/17 - 8/20/2008 : "A STRONG AND WET STORM SYSTEM MORE TYPICAL OF AUTUMN WILL BEGIN AFFECTING WESTERN WASHINGTON LATE TUESDAY...AND CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. THIS SYSTEM PROMISES TO BRING SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL TO THE AREA FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ON THE SOUTHWEST FACING SLOPES OF THE OLYMPICS AND CASCADES. ELSEWHERE...A QUARTER TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH IS POSSIBLE...WITH SOME SOME SITES ON THE COAST RECEIVING NEAR AN INCH."
With a description like that, our original plans to hike in the Glacier Peak Wilderness were quickly altered. We decided to try and head further east and north to the Okanogan region. Sadly, this year's annual hiking trip was still cut short due to Mother Nature. The "unseasonable" storm brought rain/hail/thunder/lightning/sun to our trip so we hiked out 2 days early.
