"A STRONG AND WET STORM SYSTEM MORE TYPICAL OF AUTUMN WILL BEGIN AFFECTING WESTERN WASHINGTON LATE TUESDAY...AND CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. THIS SYSTEM PROMISES TO BRING SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL TO THE AREA FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ON THE SOUTHWEST FACING SLOPES OF THE OLYMPICS AND CASCADES. ELSEWHERE...A QUARTER TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH IS POSSIBLE...WITH SOME SOME SITES ON THE COAST RECEIVING NEAR AN INCH."<br> With a description like that, our original plans to hike in the Glacier Peak Wilderness were quickly altered. We decided to try and head further east and north to the Okanogan region. Sadly, this year's annual hiking trip was still cut short due to Mother Nature.
